The Molototsi River water scheme project entailed the supply of potable water to the villages in Modjadji, serving a total number of 105 000 people

The project entailed the construction of:

 
  • Earthfill dam of 8.2 x 106 m3 capacity,
  • Raw Water Pump Station,
  • Water Treatment works consisting of
  • Flash mixer
  • Chemical dosing building
  • Clarifier
  • Quick sand filter and clear water pump station.
  • Distribution system

The project was officially opened by former Minister for the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, Professor Kadar Asmal.
